Comment: Best wishes to all of the members of the Class of 1966! My schedule will not allow me to attend the reuniion, but I am glad to share it with you. When I was diagnosed and treated for Type 1 diabetes in 1965, I did not think that I would be around long. 41 years later, I am still proud to be here. I have my wife, Brenda, who has taken good care of me for over 36 years and daughters Jessica Funk of Richmond, age 29, and Lauren, a student at Virginia Tech, age 20, to thank.

I continue to practice law full time in Roanoke with an energy law practice in Virginia and West Virginia. I get to the Great Southwest (VA) and Southern West Virginia often and assit with mineral properties in both states.

I wishe all of you a great time at he reunion.

Best wishes,
Don

Comment: Hey Everyone!  Happy 50th!.  How could time have passed so quickly??!!  I am enjoying retirement time and being able to keep my 3 grandchildren, ages 9, 5, and 11 months.  When your not working, you really have an opportunity to see their little personalities form.  My poem library continues to expand.  They have reached near and far to encourage others.  I thank God for that!  Along with age has come old arthritis in knees that have been well used and hands that have sewn many stitches.  My husband of 45 years, Tom, just had a total knee replacement July 27 and is reuperating nicely!!  I am the nurse, of course.  I gave him a bell to ring, but that may have been a mistake!  Ha, ha!  I will follow him with cataract surgery in both eyes in early August.  I was so hoping to make it to the reunion this time.  I am saddened by the passing of so many of our classmates and looking through the 1966 yearbook of pictures and reading autographs really was inspiring.  Thank you for being a part of my life!  I know our Class of 1966 has made a significant impact in our world with how we have worked and served others in our adult years, due to all the mentors we had!  Would love to hear from you.  Many good wishes to all! Love, Susan

Comment: I've heard that the more things,or times, or eras change the more they stay the same. If thats true I can't wait, all the more, to see you guys.

I have to confess I still pull out some Embers, Catalinas, Chairman of the Board, and of course Jimmy Buffett and others on a regular basis. My son heard me listening to a CD the other day of the oldie goldies and said. Dad. I've never heard those songs before but I like them will you make me a copy. We grew up in a good time. See you soon.

All three of our children and 7 grandchildren live near us.  Mike retired a year ago so we are able to travel and spend the winter months in Florida. I am looking forward to attending the reunion and reconnecting with many of my classmates.
