Donna Long (Whitley)

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired
Comment: Bill and I are still enjoying golfing, swimming and living on the lake just south of Knoxville, TN. Our daughter lives outside of San Francisco with her husband and her two sons, ages 2 and 4.  Our son lives outisde of Chicago in Aurora.  Our 11-year-old granddaughter lives in Denver.  We are still burning the roads and skies up going to spend time with them.  Grandchildren are just "THE BEST".  Can't wait to see everyone.  Many thanks to the Reunion Committee for always doing such a GREAT JOB! We wouldn't have reunions without you.  Thank you, thank you.

Richard Lorber

Marital status: Married
Occupation: Screenwriter / Comedy Writer [Screenplays & Short Stories]
Comment: 59 years old now & still haven't grown up! If you'd like to know WHY, take a look at my mini web-site & read firsthand [if you can bear to] what my life was like in my 95.4% autobiographical Short Stories. Here I was, a neurotic little Jew from Brooklyn, NY-- growing up [from 1951-1953] in Bland, VA & [from 1953-1965] in Bluefield, WV.

Most of these ostensibly funny Short Stories were published in literary magazines, which none of us have heard of-- including me.

I probably don't belong HERE on this site- since I graduated BHS in 1965. [In retrospect, I probably never belonged in Bluefield.]

However, the few friends I did have-- I met at Whitethorn Grade School, Fairview Junior High, & "BEAVER"! -- aka "BHS"!

I left for UCLA in 1965 to major in Physics-- & never looked back. [I was too paranoid.]

After 4 years of college, & too many years at 3 different graduate schools, I somehow ended up as a comedy writer. [Probably because my childhood and early adulthood was bizarrely & unintentionally funny.]

Rusty Lusk (Cravens)

Marital status: Married
Children: 3
Occupation: retired
Comment: I took early retirement in Janurary after working as a secretary for Century 21 Realty due to a company merge causing my lay off.  Hoping to find another employment opportunity soon. I have a five year old grandaughter, Cara, living in Richmond. We have enjoyed living in the Hampton Roads area for the past 10 years.

Pat Magann

Children: 3
Occupation: Chairman DEPT OB-GYN Naval Medical Center - Portsmouth
Comment: I have gone full circle, thought that for this reunion I would get the prize for traveling the longest distance to come back for the reunion from Perth Australia but was called back to active duty for Operation Iraq Freedom and remain in the Navy, now at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth VA. I cannot believe that it has been 40 years. Looking forward to the reunion

Carolyn Martin (Dickson)

Marital status: Married
Children: 3
Occupation: Wife of Retired Pastor & Counselor
Comment:
We have retired from full-time ministry, and have moved to Texas!  No more snow to shovel for us!  We love it here, in spite of the heat.  We have seven grandchildren now--ages 9 to 22, and the oldest one just got married.  Our son is now out of the army, but still in the reserves.  We are so blessed that after four deployments he is fine.

Dennis and I really enjoyed the last reunion.  We appreciate all the work that went into the planning.  It was great seeing so many familiar faces once again--and it's always great to visit Bluefield and see the ever-beautiful East River Mountain.  The BEAR was a spectacular finish to the weekend! What great planning.
